Yes, we will try to see
these as well as try to find ex-LTLVPL and ex-EELVSU. There will also be a visit
to the two centers of Europe EUc1 (the original point) as
well as EUc2 (the «tourist» point) and two divided
railsways (BYLT and LVRU), so
we are not lacking points on our list. At BYLT we are invited by the Lithuanian
Border Guards to study the demarcation work at Medininkai border crossing. We
also hope it will be possible to visit the divided BYLT islets in Lake Druksiai.
The
main team from DK had a meeting in Copenhagen last evening and is soon on their
way east. Rolf and I will Friday meet them on Lazdijai (LTPL).
Karolis and a third LT freak will maybe join us at Vistytis farms.
As
far as I know nobody is online from the field this time unless there are
net access from the hotels. On 19 July I will return back
from Valga/Valka (EELV) while the rest will continue towards Estonia
and Scandinavia. Karolis will only participate in LT, so maybe he will be
able to give reports to you all before me.
We
have achieved a good cooperation with the border authorities and hope we will be
able to see the «real borders» before the EU appears on 1 May 2004. LTRU, EERU
and EELV all still only excist as post-SU administration lines as they are not
demarcated according to our information.
