<div id="ygrps-yiv-318928145">Today I have been spoken to the head of International Treaties Division Mr.<br/>
Ridas Petkus and Ambassador at Large Mr. Edvardas Gružas, both at Lithuanian<br/>
MFA.<br/>

The actual execution of the ratifications of the Lithuanian-Russian border<br/>
is going to take part within 1 week to 1 month. It is only a question about<br/>
when the parties will have time for that, according to both gentlemen.<br/>
<br/>
According to Mr. Gruzas a joint commission will be created hopefully already<br/>
in September and they will then start to solve the question about the joint<br/>
border. He expressed a hope that this work will be much more easy because a<br/>
great part is waterways, and only a small area land border. The demarcation<br/>
headed by this joint commission will only begin its work next year. One<br/>
central job will be to compensate for the Vistytis farms - so far they do<br/>
not have any area in mind, and it could be solved in any way. They do not<br/>
have any prejudice in this context. Before the demarcation will be finished<br/>
the families will need to live under the same regime as until now. In short,<br/>
nothing will change this year.<br/>

Mr. Gruzas also confirmed that the location of the LTPLRU tp is correct, but<br/>
that that it is considered to make a more modern monument maybe with<br/>
trilanguaged text.<br/>
