Louis Champlin sends us this photograph of NdeM Niágara 3027, taken in August 1946 at the American Locomotive Company plant at Schenectady, New York, USA. This locomotive was the third of the QR-1 class in the first ALCO order, numbers 3025-3032. Baldwin Locomotive Works built numbers 3033-3048, then ALCO built numbers 3049-3056 in another order. Though not visible here, the weight lettered on the cab is 311 tons (622,000 pounds). This does not correspond to any listed weight for the QR-1 class. The closest weight is 629,400 pounds for engine and tender in running order. The cabs were relettered in México to 285 tons, the metric weight of engine and tender in running order. NdeM 3027 is now at the Museo del Ferrocarril in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
