Back in July I had an e-mail from a Steve Gruhn who brought to my
attention that Nunavakanuk Lake in the Yukon Delta is 4 feet below
sea level. I just got around to check that out and sure enough there
is a sea level line all the way around the lake.  The lake is about
30 miles west of Mountain Village which is on the north bank of the
Yukon. My theory is that water loss through evaporation and
sublimation equals or exceeds precipitation. No mention made
regarding salinity level but probably not high like in lower latitude
desert regions.
So, that means I haven't been to all of the state lowpoints.
It's always nice to have a trip to look forward to, isn't it.
