I am awake, though my own computer isn't. I am trying
to get somebody to fix it without paying nor without
losing any data files (the virus attacked other files,
but not data files). I can go e-mail at other
computers, but maintaining my web page isn't possible.
I have many facts but hasn't been able to post them.
One of the most interesting post office designation is
probably where I live. New York City is a city in
itself though it has five different counties. Though
the names of other counties are in the city portion of
the postal address (not the name of the city oddly),
Queens has four different "cities" in it. Thus in the
postal address, we put a name that is only a
neighborhood.
Supreme court has had many state vs state boundary
problems over the years. The most famous recently is
probably Ellis Island between NY and NJ.
Though both Kalawao County and the Yellowstone
National Park portion not in a county supposedly has
disappeared, they still show up in all US atlases on
the web and many other atlases. So, I am keeping them
as separate until the atlases change.
There are three other state with at least one
independent city. Nevada and Missouri and Maryland
are the others. I am guessing most of you know what
cities they are.
The exclaves of AI are Kloster Grimmenstein and
Wonnenstein. I was wondering if any maps exist of the
house enclaves before the 1800s. By the way, a book I
saw mentioned that part of Pondicherry that was
jointly administered by France and England was divided
by country in parcels, though that was probably just a
property division.
