Ok. This is bad news, but my computer is badly
stricken by a virus (due to my stupidity, no less), so
I can't update my web page nor send anything from the
collection of maps I have. That does suck.

To add a few things to Jonathan's wanderings
(wonderings? sp?), if you look at treaties of the
Mexico, USA border, you will find many historic
instances of small land on other side of a river. Too
bad they dammed it (dammit), so it doesn't happen
anymore. There should be other international ones,
but they escape me now except my own Bangladesh-India
border. And Bangladesh-India border is quite a bigger
mess as it includes enclaves and moving river banks.
In Bangladesh, I once had to drive through a road a
few feet from the border while saying Hi to farmers in
India. And those two countries hate each other. I
also may have driven through an enclave, but this was
before I got interested in enclaves, so never bothered
to find out if I truly did or not. That is pretty
much all the international border stories I have.
The only state boundary story I can think of is the
fact that in Smoky Mountain National Park, you will
have to cross the border once on the main road if you
just drive, but will have to cross the border three
times if you want to go to the parking lot (I only
stopped in the parking lot, so I could have a chance
to cross the border). Of course she was laughing at
my obsession as surely we all have somebody who does.

Arif
