of my country lately<br/>
& it has really been a wild tear thanx to brian & gregg & the dogs & jesper<br/>
& peter & randy & david & jane & bozzle & the persistent lesser yellowlegs<br/>
& the usgs & myself & all the rest of us<br/>
but the kernel of what i would like to bring back from this chase is that i<br/>
am now personally very well satisfied that the legal reality is that there<br/>
are presently a grand total of as many as 83 major united states<br/>
multisubdivisional points<br/>
with perhaps a very small handful of these still slightly indeterminate<br/>
geographically<br/>

coincidentally<br/>
one of the points of indeterminacy could well be menhus  aka  mes plus nhe<br/>
<br/>
but the nh state library may be coming to the rescue soon about this<br/>
particular detail  while hopefully filling us in more generally as well<br/>
<br/>

now i should hasten to insert about the 83 that if you believe the famous<br/>
4corners or azconmut quadristate point is in reality not really a<br/>
quadristate so much as 4 distinct tristate points all rolled up into one or<br/>
planted or stacked in a single place<br/>
    namely  azconm & azcout & aznmut & conmut<br/>
  which is after all a possible view<br/>
then you may think there are really as many as 86 such u s majors<br/>
<br/>
but i think we should 86 that idea because it is so unwieldy<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
& if you think azconmut is really 1 quadristate  plus  the abovenamed 4<br/>
tristates<br/>
which is after all probably the absolute truth of the matter<br/>
as any  aznmut azconmut  navajo for example would probably laugh to assent<br/>
then you may think there are as many as 87 majors in all<br/>
& i do not at all think we should 86 that idea<br/>
because it is so crazy<br/>
& maximal too<br/>
but frankly i am very much liking the idea just now of there being exactly<br/>
83 american national major league points at the present time<br/>

the main reason now for my fixing if not fixating on this number is that i<br/>
have been wishing there may be some consensus or even explicit agreement<br/>
amongst us<br/>
  if not all of us then perhaps some<br/>
& not necessarily about anything in particular really<br/>
but really about anything anyone particularly likes or understands<br/>
& then about anything else anyone else especially digs or groks<br/>
etc<br/>

& i would now like to offer this number to you all as a first example of my<br/>
own search for & best guess at what seems to me important truth<br/>

for i have carefully considered that there are<br/>
 1 quadristate point<br/>
   plus<br/>
62 tristate points<br/>
   including the triplet kymotn tristate points  &<br/>
   including also the oft neglected but equally real trio of great lakes tsps<br/>
   & including finally also the so called lost tripoint of atlantis  ctnyri<br/>
      the only previously hailed noncontinental or maritime tristate point<br/>
in america<br/>
for a grand total of<br/>
63 multistate points per se<br/>

& to this subtotal i have added<br/>
 2 district of columbia trisubdivisional point twins<br/>
equally real whether considered multistate points<br/>
  in view of the statehood of the united states<br/>
  or the multistatehood of the federal district<br/>
or whether not considered multistate points at all but rather only<br/>
multisubdivisional points & merely the mereotopological equivalent of<br/>
multistate points<br/>
for a grander grand total of 65 most major or allstar multipoints<br/>
which i distinguish in this peculiar way because these are the points i<br/>
dont think anyone will hesitate to salute or at least recognize as<br/>
paramount in the united states<br/>

& finally & only by virtue of the inclusion of the lastmentioned 2 dc or<br/>
federal district tripoints do i submit for your consideration the<br/>
additional 18 also federal territorial waters tripoints i have been chasing<br/>
up & down the coasts<br/>
so as to produce thereby a grandest grand total of 83<br/>

the thing that finally convinced me of the correctness of this 83 view<br/>
  even more than the alflus topo i flashed to david earlier today<br/>
  & even more than getting 5 or 6 clean marine confirmations in 18 tries<br/>
& i also think the last word until the nh state library checks back in<br/>
is the fact that the newest of the 18 subject topos<br/>
& sequentially the last also in my serendipitous tour  namely<br/>
the topo of the oruswa  or oregon unitedstates washington  area<br/>
most handsomely  indeed exquisitely  depicted at<br/>

& to provide up to the minute down to the second geocoordinates for as many<br/>
as 6  so far  of the 18 new marines<br/>
& some of these are in fact appended below as footnotes or really data<br/>
scraps just because they were available & a pity to trash<br/>
but i realize you can now very well map surf to such points as these yourself<br/>
& anyway that is no longer the point<br/>

but the point now is<br/>
to say that the maritime federal territorial points are less real than the<br/>
dc federal territorial points because they are wet would miss the point<br/>
that at least one of the dc points is actually wet all the time & the other<br/>
most of the time<br/>

& to say the dc points are more real than the maritime federals because<br/>
they are continental while the maritimes are  well  only maritime  would<br/>
miss the point that ctnyri  or connecticut newyork rhodeisland  a point<br/>
previously accepted at this tristate country club by acclamation  is not at<br/>
all continental but already entirely maritime itself<br/>
<br/>
in fact if ctnyri didnt exist  then 2 more marines  ctrius & ctnyus  would<br/>
have had to be created in its stead<br/>
<br/>
& anyway who would or could object to wet continental or maritime points<br/>
just for being what they are<br/>

in other words<br/>
if one believes there are so many as 65<br/>
then by dint of pure reason alone one is almost bound to accept that there<br/>
are in that case fully as many as 83<br/>

so i was wondering if any of you others would like to acknowledge this<br/>
brush with or grain of truth<br/>
  which pleases me so  & which would please me even more in that case<br/>
or whether you would like alternatively to question &or improve upon it further<br/>
  which would also please me a great deal<br/>
