ages before the Roman Empire, and started its life at BoundaryPoint <br/>
in message 1624.<br/>

I visited this stone this year, and made some pictures of it. As <br/>
these are all slides, I have yet to convert them into photographs so <br/>
I can scan them and show them you.<br/>

I am still not sure whether the stone is actually exactly on the <br/>
border of Alsace and Lorraine, or just a touch to the side of it. A <br/>
25k topo map I have shows the border on the other side of the road, <br/>
but that might be just a way of showing the border, and anyway the <br/>
map can be wrong, as other (not so huge and spectacular, but <br/>
nevertheless very nice) border markers in the neighbourhood <br/>
definitely are on the border.<br/>

I am going to follow up on this and other stones in its vicinity soon.<br/>

By the way: the name is Breitenstein, not Breintenstein. The mistake <br/>
is made in the link in message 1624 and from there has begun to live <br/>
a life of its own here. So in order to search the archive, look for <br/>
Breintenstein.<br/>
