we made adobe pass ok on nv hwy 225 but couldnt eat the whole road & <br/>
chickened out of crossing the wild horse range<br/>
so couldnt make our projected nv score of 1774<br/>
<br/>
but we found chicken creek pass on nv hwy 226 instead<br/>
& after swallowing that entire hwy & an additional 40 miles of dust<br/>
we reached idaho with a nevada score of 1775<br/>

then tried the first hot sawanabori possibly in history<br/>
on hot creek into bruneau canyon<br/>
expecting a bath rather than a drink at the end<br/>
but it was just a good misguided hot dry hike<br/>
as usual with insufficient maps<br/>

today we explored the 1 large & 2 tiny fragments of oregon east of the snake <br/>
river<br/>
<br/>
the western boundary of idaho is much like that of papua<br/>
with a riverine sector between 2 meridional lines<br/>
<br/>
here the snake is the fly<br/>
but unlike the fly it snakes both east & west of the survey lines<br/>
<br/>
one anomalous result is these 3 frags<br/>
<br/>
but just like the survey sectors of the papua west boundary<br/>
the survey sectors of the idaho west boundary are also very close in <br/>
latitude yet actually unrelated to each other<br/>
<br/>
about this<br/>
bus&ss pp153ffff are interesting<br/>
<br/>
we tried to find the initial point of the 1868 survey which ultimately <br/>
terminated at the idnvor tristate point<br/>
<br/>
this tp which we visited earlier is the remotest & possibly most daunting of <br/>
the dry tristates<br/>
at 62 miles off the pavement mostly by jeep track<br/>
& us without 4wheel drive<br/>
<br/>
but that was a few years ago<br/>
<br/>
this time we found many traces of the idor survey line<br/>
  evidently in a state of advanced benign neglect<br/>
including the usual fences & an unusually well placed flagpole<br/>
but nary a monument this side of idnvor<br/>
<br/>
anyway<br/>
its time to hit the road again<br/>
<br/>
