That's right Bill.  As soon as I get the film developed, I'll post some interesting shots of the US-Mexico border.  The boundary fence (wall in some places) is technically about three feet, or one meter, inside the United States.  At the Nogales crossing the US Customs/Immigration building is about six inches in the United States.  The actual line is painted white on the road so that US officials will know exactly where their jurisdiction ends if they're running after someone, etc.  At one point in Nogales, the fence is about six feet in the United States, the marker being in Mexico that far.  Along most of the border, as I mentioned above, the difference is about one meter, although this past week, as I was trapsing along the border through the desert, the US fence was about a foot on the Mexico side of the border in a few places, which is actually an infringement on Mexican sovereignty!!  I learned some very surprising things about this border this week.  I'll send more tidbits when the pictures are developed.
