According to the official US time site (that's chronology, not the weekly
magazine), the Hopi reservation in Arizona is not only a political enclave
within the Navajo reservation, but also a chronological enclave. In other
words, it's an anachronism ... by one hour!
Arizona, New Mexico, colorado and Utah are in the mountain time zone, but of
these, only Arizona doesn't observe daylinght saving. EXCEPT the Navajo
reservation in the NE corner, which like the other states, does put its
clocks forward an hour in summer. This leaves the poor old Hopis inside the
Navajo reservation without summer time, (no Indian summer??) and so behind
their enclaving neighbours.
