the question of whether the south pole is still a functioning multipoint
almost automatically also begs the question of whether the north pole is or
has ever been a real multipoint too

indeed the north pole seems to have all the earmarks of a living renegade
sesquinational or even binational quadripoint

for under the same sectoring principle that has been used to slice up
antarctica like a pie centered at the south pole
it appears that at the antipodes russia wholeheartedly
& canada somewhere between halfheartedly & wholeheartedly claim similarly
interfacing pie slices of the north polar region today
with everyones land or rather water or rather icecap occupying the 2
intervening diagonal slices
in much the same way as everyone used to own 2 slices of antarctica before
we got it all

& the mentioned countries appear to make their colonial presumptions upon
what would otherwise be universally recognized as everyones north polar
icecap
& they do so over the objections of most of the world led by norway & the
usa & some other antarctic treaty partners
if i am not mistaken
so forgive me for winging it here

but my question in all this is
does anyone know exactly how the canadian polar sector principle
which was btw the grandfather of all the sector claims at both poles
matured from an unresolved matter of senate debate in 1907
into what now appears to be a legal reality on every new canadian govt map

like what is the real truth here
is the north pole still only a sesquinational or now a full fledged binational

& is it a renegade or merely a slightly unusual international multipoint

for it might also stand to be a global maxipoint candidate
