I found some information on the village of Chatelat (in the
Dictionnaire Historique de la Suisse,
http://www.snl.ch/dhs/externe/protect/textes/fF405.html). It is,
indeed, an old Mennonite colony. Having more than 55% Germanophones
in 1990, this was two-thirds at the start of the 20th century (and
the total population has diminished considerably since).

Nothing on the other two villages up to now.
