you & peter are both right to mention matching examples of
chilean border markers in this connection
but the distinctive steel tower style of marker is rather more
south american in general than it is chilean in particular
& we have seen several other types of towers very similar to
these in connection with the tripoints of brazil
which has no borders at all with chile
tho it does have them with almost all the others
so it might be fun to try to figure out which 2 countries down there
actually invented this peculiar style
