i believe i agree with you & arif & brendan here in feeling it is the oddity that jacks the interest level rather than merely the scarcity of the thing
my own rough counts of the sovereign enclaves & exclaves & countries of the world suggest that both claves are probably greater & not fewer in number than the mother countries themselves
& yet how odd really is discontiguity
it is just as natural & common in reality as contiguity
isnt it
i think truly rare in both senses tho
& rarer than most megapoints even
is that intermediate condition between contiguity & discontiguity
involving peneclaves & boundary crosses
