      I never meant to sound like saying that<br/>
continental divide is a contour line.  I just thought<br/>
it was interesting as a boundary line.  There are many<br/>
drainage divides as boundaries but they are rarely<br/>
continetal and that was the only case among US states.<br/>
      Anyway, I believe there are some coastlines of<br/>
lakes, especially in Africa, which follow boundary<br/>
lines and a few river, whose banks follow the boundary<br/>
instead of the thalweg.  Have you checked out if any<br/>
of the treaties allow for the contour lines to remain<br/>
boundaries if the water recede?<br/>
