Colleagues,

Joining this list was one of my best moves in recent years. I'd like
to thank you all for the wealth of information provided here and for
generously answering my questions.

Upon recommendations from you all I have procured copies of the
journal articles by Robinson and Catudal, and some of the books
mentioned here, among others Catudals "The exclave problem of
Western Europe" and his Steinstücken book.

Please let me draw your attention to the work of Dr Tommy Book, and
especially his "Angerdorf och exklav" (ISSN 0349-0564, ISBN 91-7639-015-6),
for a detailed description of the West-Berlin exclaves. The book is
in Swedish but contains some wonderfully detailed maps. I have
asked the authors permission to publish pictures and translated text
from the book on the Net.

Now a question for those of you who have travelled the borders of
central Europe: Is there anything at all left of the German-German
border?

I know of the handfull of border memorials, and a visit to those is
certainly on my wish-list, but is there anything "authentic" left at
all? For exampel border stones, "Grenzpfähle", or rusty old signs
stating that you are leaving one zone and entering another?

Regards,
Mats
