Joe Batt was a scoundrel. A pirate, no less. As punishment he was
marooned on the north shore of Fogo island. The year is not
important. This was considered a fate worse than death in those
times. The place was thought to be one of the most inhospitable areas
on the northern sea. One of the, "four corners of the earth," the
sailors reckoned. Joe apparently survived, if only in namesake. All
reports disclaim that the word, "Arm" has anything to do with any of
Joe's appendages, missing or otherwise. Rather, it is only to
describe the land.

I had to check it out myself. It is a very strange and barren land.
One of the oldest visible parts of the Canadian Shield. But the
people would explain it differently. They too seem to thrive eating
meat and drinking beer. They say that Joe Batt lived alone on these
frozen rocks but was the founder of a great heritage. How did he do
that? Nevertheless, they do all look similar, and they all have arms.

If anyone ever gets back to Joe Batt's Arm, go to the Castaway Lounge
and see if you can glean anything more. Maybe it really is one of the
olde four corners.
