I never assumed that a dominion in the commonwealth
was anything besides an independent country. Nor did
I assume any of the commonwealths was anything besides
a state. My point was actually opposing that idea.
What I said was that if we go into semantics a little
too much without actually looking at the practical
implications, we lose sight of what is actually the
case. We can argue if we dig too deep into the
semantics that the dominions are not really countries
and commonwealths are not states and Ellis Island
doesn't have a state boundary. BUT for all intents
and purposes, they are just what they are.

PS If I was actually seriously arguing the poing, do
you think I would have used a word such as MANY
